Death Valley National Park, California

Posted by on March 16, 2016

On the spur of the moment, we jumped in the truck and drove 12+ hours to Death Valley to see the once-in-a-decade Super Bloom.  MQ was amazing in the car and we loved the adventure of driving through so many different deserts to arrive at the breathtaking Death Valley National Park.

A carpet of flowers in the desert!

A happy Matt in his high desert element. Death Valley varies in elevation from 282 feet below sea level and up to the 11,049-foot Telescope Peak.

It rained our first night at the park and on the higher peaks you’ll see the snow! Layers were super important because the temperature swing from our campsite to the desert floor was 40 degrees.

Exploring (really tall) charcoal kilns near our campsite.
