Waikoloa and Volcano, The Big Island, Hawai’i

Posted by on December 19, 2016

This has the potential to be a HUGE post because we spent two glorious weeks, for our first ever trip to Hawai’i.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect adventure – beaches, volcanoes, dolphins, waterfalls, manta rays, sea turtles, Kona coffee, and so much more!  We have fallen deeply in love.

Our first week was spent at a resort while Matt worked with the many Mozillians.

Our second week was spent near Volcanoes National Park. Here’s MQ exiting a lava tube.

My birthday was celebrated at Punalu’u Beach Park one of the only accessible black sand beaches.

We bushwhacked in to Waiale Falls – so worth it!

Kilauea Iki Trail which takes you through the lava lake of Kilauea Crater.

On the way to the airport and MQ requested a beach. So we stopped at ‘Ahu’ena Heiau (King Kamehameha’s temple).
